The Scream, after Edvard Munch.

Munch's iconic image, created in 1893 in oil, tempera, and pastel on cardboard, records a moment of existential terror beneath a blood-red sky above the Oslo Fjord. The anguished figure's mouth forms a silent scream that has become a universal symbol of modern anxiety. The painting is held by the National Museum in Oslo.

Our atelier works from a colour-accurate reference, recreating each passage in oil so the surface — not a print of it — carries the image. The result is a faithful, hand-made reproduction, certified and made to last.

Specifications

Hand-ground lightfast oils on Oil on canvas, sealed with a removable archival varnish. Hand-stretched on kiln-dried bars where applicable.

Selected size 70×100 cm. True aspect ratio preserved; the painting is never cropped or stretched to fit.

Floating black frame. Rolled works ship in a rigid museum tube; framed works ship crated with corner protection.

Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Dust with a soft dry brush; never use solvents.
