ABOUT THE ORIGINAL

The Kiss, after Gustav Klimt.

Painted between 1907 and 1908 during Klimt's Golden Phase, The Kiss is a shimmering fusion of two lovers enveloped in gold-leaf robes amid a flowering meadow. The mosaic-like patterns of the robes, the tender inclination of heads, and the riot of gold make it the supreme statement of the Vienna Secession. It hangs in the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna.

Our atelier works from a colour-accurate reference, recreating each passage in oil so the surface — not a print of it — carries the image. The result is a faithful, hand-made reproduction, certified and made to last.

Specifications

Hand-ground lightfast oils on Oil on canvas, sealed with a removable archival varnish. Hand-stretched on kiln-dried bars where applicable.

Selected size 70×100 cm. True aspect ratio preserved; the painting is never cropped or stretched to fit.

Floating black frame. Rolled works ship in a rigid museum tube; framed works ship crated with corner protection.

Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Dust with a soft dry brush; never use solvents.
